Is it correct that SQL Server Compact is currently unavailable on
WinCE 6.0?

I cannot find a direct MS statement to this effect but I did find

If this is true, does anyone know an ETA for its release -- at least
for the beta?

And if not, what is the alternative to SQL Server CE?  I thought WinCE
6.0 has been out for over a year now(?), and it doesn't seem likely to
me that MS would release an OS with no database connectivity at all
for that amount of time.
