I've got a new client machine with Windows XP SP3.  I'm trying to install
Proclarity Desktop Pro v. 6.3.129.200.

The install starts and then it stops with a message "The following items
were not found and are required to install Proclarity Desktop Pro 6.3:"

-Microsoft Windows Installer 3.1 v2
-Microsoft XML 6.0

then it has two buttons: "Install" and "Cancel".  If I click Install, it
says it must reboot the PC. Did that, go back into the installer and the same
thing happens - same error message.  Never gets past this point.

This same process works perfectly on a machine with XP SP2.

IMHO, it looks like the Proclarity Desktop installer doesn't recognize the
new versions installed as part of XP SP3.

Anybody have a suggestion?

Thanks,

RWilliams3

Well, I don't see any relationship in your question with SQL Server (because
this is a SQL Server NG).

However, you can try downloading those two component (Windows Installer and
XML 6.0) yourself and installing them.

Then try installing Proclarity ... again. This may work?

Hi rwilliams3,
I stumbled across your post while searching for something else on the
internet.  We have seen this issue with installing the Professional client on
Vista from time to time.  The solution is here on the ProClarity blog:

ofessional-installer-loops-on-windows-vista.aspx

Hope this helps,

Bob
