Hi,
When I want to install MSCS on Windows 2000, the wizard asks a name for
cluster name.
In installation of SQL Server 2000, the wizard asks name of "new or existing
Virtual SQL Server".

1) Should these two names be the same? What's the relation between them?
2) Which IP address should I assign to Virtual SQL Server? Is it the one
which I have assigned to Cluster in MSCS installation?

Many thanks in advance,
Leila

First off, what in the world are you doing clustering with 6 year old
software that is no longer under mainstream support? This in itself is a
violation of best practices for high availability. <G>

The cluster name is the name of the cluster, the virtual server name is the
name of the virtual server hosting the application (in this case the sql
install).

No. The SQL Virtual Server should have its own IP address that is separate
from the cluster's IP address.
