Can I access the MS Analysis service over the web to delivery data to my
customers that use Pivot Excel tables?

yes, you can

with AS2000 you need the enterprise edition. (search for the msolap.asp
file)
with AS2005 the standard and enterprise edition support this feature. In
AS2005 the performance is better then AS2000
(take a look at the msmdpump.dll file)

in the 2 cases, the connection go through IIS.

Hello RMelo,

Agree with Jeje that you could config HTTP access to AS 2005 and you could
use both OWC pivottable and Excel Pivottable. However, if you 'd like to
manage AS 2005, you need to use AMO as mentioned in "Client tools to view
cubes" thread you posted.

If you have further questions on this, please feel free to let's know.
Thanks.

Note: The MSDN Managed Newsgroup support offering is for non-urgent issues
where an initial response from the community or a Microsoft Support
Engineer within 1 business day is acceptable. Please note that each follow
up response may take approximately 2 business days as the support
professional working with you may need further investigation to reach the
most efficient resolution. The offering is not appropriate for situations
that require urgent, real-time or phone-based interactions or complex
project analysis and dump analysis issues. Issues of this nature are best
handled working with a dedicated Microsoft Support Engineer by contacting
