I have got a problem! I have just installed Analysis
Services, and am able to build and process cubes, however,
unable to browse cubes. When I tried to browse the cube by
right clicking on a cube and selecting the option 'browse
data', an error message came up:'unable to browse the
cube, unspecified error'. Sometimes the error message
contains an additional line 'unable to locate the cube'. I
have checked the data path in the Server Properties and it
is correct. Please help! Could it be that the SP3 for
Analysis Services might not have been installed?

If you use the Analysis Services client to access cubes on a different
server, and that server has SP3 installed and your machine hasn't, it will
most likely solve the problem. In any case it is good to be on the latest
service pack.

Remember that there are two SP3 distributions; one for the RDBMS and one for
Analysis Services. Just because you have updated the RDBMS to SP3 doesn't
mean that Analysis Services is automatically updated.

My problem is slightly different, i'm using cubes to extract data on my
machine. it is therefore not a server client scenario. just one
laptop.... *-does the SP3 solution still apply?-*
