What is the data source for the cube that returns an error?
SQL Server 2000? Oracle? or what?

Hi Dave,

The data source is SQL Server 2000.  And the OS is
Windows Server 2003.

Thank you.

We can certainly load from SQL Server -- we do it all of the time.
There must be some other configuration which is different between the two.
Are they running the same MDAC stack?
Can you provide more specifics?

Hi Dave,

Yes, they are running the same MDAC stack.

I would like to tell you that all pcs that process the
same cube use Windows XP, Office XP (by Pivot Table) and
has installed OWC10 already.  The trouble cube can be
viewed in other pcs normally. So, I'm not sure some
configuration in OS has some discrepancy.  Please advice.

Have a nice day,

Kit

In your original posting you said "I have 2 cubes, one runs smootly and
another one has an error message 'The query could not be processed : The
data provider didn't supply any further error information'

Can you tell me more about the conditions when the error occurs on the
second cube?
For example, does the second cube return the same error regardless of what
PCs query it? Can a PC which has an error on the second cube, can same PC
query the first cube?

Hi Dave,

Sorry, I did not explain you clearly due to my English is
limited.  Please let me to attempt to re-explain.

2 Cubes that I have are run under the same database.  I
don't have any special conditions.  I accessed cubes
using Pivot Table on a client site.  The first cube has
been processed well.  On the other hand, when I tried to
process the second cube, the error that is 'The query
could not be processed : The data provider didn't supply
any further error information' has been appeared.

After that, I changed to other client pcs, there are no
any errors for both cubes.

All client pcs have been installed OWC10.exe, IE Version
6 as well as MS Office XP.  And Cubes' Database Role
Manager in AM are set for Guests.

Thank you for your assistance.

Are the errors returned when you "process" the cube using Analysis Manager
or when you "query" the cube using OWC?

The errers returned when I "query" the cube on IE (Pivot
Table) using OWC.

From the PCs that are getting errors, can you see and query other cubes,
e.g. Foodmart? Or is this error only being returned for this one cube?

I can see and query other cubes except the cube that
returned the error.

Very strange. What is different about that cube? Other PCs can access it,
but some can't. They are all running the same version of PTS (all ran the
SP3 version of ptslite.exe from the SP3 distribution in the
\msolap\install\pts folder). All are running the same version of OWC. I
assume that all of these are on the same domain and the same user is
accessing the cube -- you might check the security setups if this isn't the
case.

Those cubes are built from the same database.  Anyway, I
will check the security setups and inform you the result.

Dave, Thank you for your help.
