Hi,
We use BES (blackberry professional software) on a MS SBS 2003 Premium
and we back-up the whole system with Symantec backup Exec 12.
BES uses an SQLdb for management.

Since the day we installed BES we have this backup error in Backup
Exec 12:
----
The job failed with the following error: The path for this database is
invalid because it contains extra backslash characters. You must
remove the extra backslash characters before the database can be
backed up.
----

I read this veritas support document
seer.entsupport.symantec.com/docs/294324.htm

and I checked in MS SQL Server management studio (databases/BESmgmt/
Properties/Files) but the file names don't have double backslashes:
path = F:\BES\MSSQL\DATA File = BESmgmt.mdf
path = F:\BES\MSSQL\DATA File = BESmgmt.ldf

I'm stuck with the problem ,any help would be greatly appreciated...
Thanks in advance

Guido

Guido,

I have no experience with this problem, but the Symantic support site has
this older post:
http://seer.entsupport.symantec.com/docs/294324.htm

It seems that the most workable suggestion is to Detach, then re-Attach the
database.  This points to the following KB article to explain how:
http://support.microsoft.com/kb/224071/

The Symantic site does not suggest that the database needs to be actually
moved, but that this process will correct the internal string.

FWIW,
RLF
