Hi,
Can anyone confirm what happens when either of 2 SQL 2005 servers configured
for continous merge replication are rebooted?
Will the replication just pick up and carry on, or must it be manually
started again?
Many thanks,
FD

Check the schedule of the associated scheduled job. I presume they are set
to start on server's start.
In any case it will resume the next time the scheduled job starts (either
manually or automatically).
Regards.

Hi FD,
Based on my research, the process may need your manual synchronization after each one
rebooted, however I have not found an official document talking about it. Now I am trying to
establish a test environment for verifying this issue and may need more time to get back to
you for further confirmation on this. I appreicate your patience.
If you have any other questions or concerns, please feel free to let me know. Have a nice
weekend!
Best regards,
Charles Wang

Hi FD,
Sorry for delaying this response. Based on my test, SQL Server 2005 continous merge replication worked fine when
either the publisher or subscriber was rebooted. After any of the servers came online, all newly inserted or
changed data would be synchronized automatically. So in conclusion, you need not to manually start the
replication again.
