I'm looking for a good, focused Reporting Services 2005 training course
to take that will teach my coworkers and me the finer points of how to
fully utilize RS2k5 to deploy robust, informative, interactive reports
for our customers.

I have a little experience with RS2000, but my coworkers have never
touched it. However, they are all fast learners, so we don't want
something that is going to be too basic. We need to ramp up QUICKLY and
don't want to waste time on less then stellar training.

Any help would be very much appreciated. Our preference would be for
classes in the Seattle area, but if there is something elsewhere in
North America, we may be able to travel for the sake of good training.

Fingers crossed someone will have a great suggestion.

Hi Alison,
buy the hitchhikers guide to reports services book, and you might want
to subscribe to their site...but definitely get the book......I bought
two RS books (I also bought the WROX one) and I felt the hichthikers
guide contained more details suitable to what we were doing....just a
personal opinion...don't want the people from WROX throwing rocks at
me...LOL!!!

If you can 'learn from the book' this is the one to go for even though
it is for 2000...maybe the guys will bring one out for 2005 too.

Best Regards

I'm not sure a training course is even necessary. Microsoft has a lot of
good tutorials ranging from SSIS to SSRS. Without touching SSRS before I
walked through the SSRS 2005 tutorial that came with SQL Server 2005 and
now I am fairly competent and comfortable with it.

An index of all the tutorials are here:
http://msdn2.microsoft.com/en-us/library/ms169620(sql.90).aspx

The Reporting Services tutorial:
http://msdn2.microsoft.com/en-us/library/ms170246.aspx

With the help of a good search engine and the tutorials you and your
team should be up and running in under a week.

Regards,
Benjamin Chan
