hello.

I need help with this report permission issue that is driving me nuts.  On
the report server we have certain reports folders that is suppose to ONLY be
visible by departments. Now all the folders and contents can be seen by
every user.  I went and created a folder stripped all the permission and left
just my account and it still visible by others.

Can any help with identifying where permissions are inherited from or how to
resolve this issue.

Thanks in advance for your help.

I only manage the Server using Groups. Currently I have the following setup:

BUILTIN\Administrators
myDomain\RS_Admins
myDomain\RS_Users

I then assign the server roles to each group,

myDomain\RS_Admins are in the Content Manager Role
myDomain\RS_Users are in the Browser Role

The home folder is open to all users, other folder I remove the inherited
permissions by setting each folder up with it's own permissions.

Thanks for responding carolus,

I have done the exact samething and all folders remain visible to all user.
The steps I took was:
created a folder in the Home folder, In the security options, I clicked
Edit Item security and I removed all the Users and groups and I added just
myself when  check another users desktop the folder is avail.
Any thought?

The only thing I can think of is removing your users from the USER group on
the local machine and creating a separate Reporting Services Group.
