Is there anywhere to download a fully-populated thesaurus list for SQL 2000
or SQL 2005 full-text search purpose?  The SQL online book mentioned that
"You will find a list of thesaurus files located in the
SQL_Server_install_path\Microsoft SQL Server\MSSQL.1\MSSQL\FTDATA\
directory. You will need to customize these files to expand or replace a
term or terms to include a list of synonyms", but didn't give out any
information as whether there are existing lists of synonyms that can be
downloaded from some providers. Thanks!

dragooon,

I don't know of a SQL Server formatted thesaurus, but you could check out
some of the free sources found through this link.

If it is worth it to you, perhaps you could convert one into a SQL thesuarus
for your use. Have not done it myself, so I cannot comment on the ease of
doing so.  (But think about how full a thesaurus you actually want.)

Thanks, wondering if I am the only one asking this question in this group?

No you are not. The problem is with a "canned" thesaurus you will be getting
too many irrelevant hits. In the long run you are best only
expanding/replacing terms you are interested in.
