Hi!

I have a WSS 3.0 running on SQL Server 2005 Standard. It was upgraded from
SQL Server 2005 Express edition. Everytime I restart server I have 4 events
in the event log as follows:

1)
SQL Database 'SharePoint_Config ' on SQL Server instance 'WEBSRV1\SQLEXPRESS
' not found. Additional error information from SQL Server is included below.
Cannot open database "SharePoint_Config" requested by the login. The login
failed.
Login failed for user 'DOMAIN\Administrator'.

Type: Error
Source: Windows SharePoint Services 3

2)
Login failed for user 'DOMAIN\Administrator '. [CLIENT: 10.10.7.7]
Source: MSSQL$SQLEXPRESS
Type: Failure Audit
Event ID: 18456

This one repeats two times...

3) Report Server Windows Service (SQLEXPRESS)  cannot connect to the report
server database.
Type: Error
Source: Report Server Windows Service (SQLEXPRESS)
Event ID: 107

How can I find and eliminate the problem. Database permission for
DOMAIN/\Administrator look OK, but still something is wrong...

Is there a database with that name on that server instance? In such
case is DOMAIN\Administrator a valid user in that database?

You say that you upgraded from SQL 2005 Express to Standard Edition?
Did you simply upgrade the existing instance, or did you move to a new
instance. (It would be a little confusing to have an instance called
SQLEXPRESS which runs a different edition.)

This could be errors that are due to the first error, so concentrate
on resolving that at first.

I can access the database both with odbc and SQLSMS. What could be wrong?
How else can I troubleshoot it?

I figured out that the Reporting Services actually generates me this error:

expected 'text/xml'.
The request failed with the error message:

And you access it as DOMAIN\Administrator?

And is the name of the instance still WEBSRV1\SQLEXPRESS, despite that
it's now Standard Edition?

Hi!

Yes, after moving to SQL Server 2005 standard edition the instance name
remains SQLEXPRESS. I didn't try to do something with it because I was
afraid to mess something up and the procedure I used for that didn't mention
renaming an instance.

As for connecting to SQL Server, I can connect with both, SQL user account
and doman user account.

And, I've resolved the first 2 issues as you've advised. Then I was trying
to resolve the report server error. For now I left it to start up manually
since I don't use it at this time.
