I'm trying to apply KB948109, but get the following error (Windows Update)

Error Code: 0x2B22
Try to install the update again, or request help from one of the following
resources.

Event viewer:

Installation Failure: Windows failed to install the following update with
error 0x80070643: Security Update for SQL Server 2005 Service Pack 2
(KB948109).

After this Reporting services does not start. I had to unistall the update
and RS is OK now. But I tried twice and don't know what is the cause.

It's a SQL 2005 SP2 installed by Data Protecion Manager 2007.
Any ideas?

This also failed for me. In my case, my firewall software blocked an attempt
by dllhost.exe to access the Internet. I assume this caused the failure. I
have not had time to investigate and so have not tried again.

I had problems applying it myself, and I had the same error code in the
event log (but the error code from Windows Update might have been
different). In the end, it turned out that I had completely run out of
disk space.

But those error codes may be generic, and I have seen several reports
where the hotfix have failed or caused a mess. Some reports indicate
that problems appear when the database files have been moved around.

I don't really have any better advice for the moment than to let it
rest.

I've tried twice and both times it failed.
I don't have disk space problems nad the Windows 2003 Firewall is OFF.
This specific machine only runs System Center Data Protection Manager 2007.
And the istance of SQL 2005 was installed by the DPM setup.

I uninstalled the hot fix and will wait for some light.....

It appear that others are having the same issue. Take a look at
