Hey

I'm trying to install SQL Server 2000 on my Win XP with SP2 box, but I get
an error.

Error message: "Microsoft SQL Server 2000 Enterprise Edition server
component is not supported on this operating system. Only CLient
components..."

Any help?

Greetings ecoder

The error message tells you exactly what the problem is.

You can not install the SERVER components of SQL Server on a non-server
based operating system.  You can install the client tools on a desktop
system, but a system running a Windows Server operating system is required
(there are a few exceptions to this rule -- the eval and desktop versions)
if you are planning on installing SQL Server.

You can install MSDE or SQLServer 2000 Developer Edition on XP only.
