I just installed MS SQL server 2000 onmy laptop for school.
I though all went well, but, I can't seem to start the service.
Can anybody be gentle and explain how I can get this thing to work?

Thanks

Hi Rick,

What are the symptoms you're seeing? Did setup complete successfully? Take a look at the event log for an entry for SQL Server. What are the details?

Dan

I had a problem with the service not starting and I had to go to services
and open up the SQL Service properties.  On your log on tab make sure "Local
System Account" is checked.  This may fix your problem.  BTW Did you setup
your SQL to use SQL Authentication Only or Mixed Authentication?
