Subject: SQL Server 2005 final - x64 setup problem with MSMQTask.dll
Trying to install SQL Server 2005 final, x64 version on Windows XP Professional x64 (Ferrari 3200 laptop, 1GB RAM). About half way through the setup process a dialog pops up with the following message (the link given below doesn't help):
TITLE: Microsoft SQL Server 2005 Setup
------------------------------
Failed to install and configure assemblies D:\Program Files\Microsoft SQL Server\90\DTS\Tasks\Microsoft.SqlServer.MSMQTask.dll in the COM+ catalog.
Error: -2146233087
Error message: Unknown error 0x80131501
Error description: One or more of the components being installed are already registered as 32 bit components in the target application. You must install the 64 bit versions of the components being installed in a different COM+ application, or delete the existing 32 bit versions of the components being installed from the target COM+ application prior to attempting install of the
64 bit versions. COM+ applications cannot contain bit neutral components.

Any ideas, please?

Hi Dan,
Thanks for getting back. I ignored the message, continued the install, and
can indeed use SQL Server 2005 without any problems.
BUT - the following dialog shows up TWICE up each time I start SQL Server
Management Studio & press 'Connect' (to my local system) - [NOTE: this & the
same setup issue also happened on the same laptop with the Septermber CTP of
x64 SQL 2005]:
Fatal SQLUNIRL.DLL Initialization Error
File: ..\src\procaddr.c, line: 422
NDDEAPI.DLL Could not be loaded, NT Error 126
I just press OK twice, then everything seems to work just fine. Is this
message related to the setup issue, do you think?
Can I get rid of this message somehow (doesn't look too impressive, after
all!).
cheers,
Tom
