I am trying to install SQL on a Windows 2003 Web Version.
As soon as I select install SQL Components it just disapears, nothing happens.
I suspect this is probable 2003 restricting software installations. I am
loged in as the administrator. I am brand new to Windows 2003. I know it is
locked down by default how do I unlock it? This is a stand alone server not
part of a domain.

Thanks for the help.

Organizations cannot use Windows Server 2003 Web Edition, to deploy
Microsoft SQL Server.

Thanks for the answer. I suppose Microsoft figures no small company might not
need Enterprise server to run their Web site that needs to be connected to a
database. What is the use of 2003 Web any way. Luckily I just installed it
for development testing not for a production box, sure learned my lesson.

Thanks again.
