SQL Server 2005 Database Mail works just fine. If your SQL Server 2005
Edition is > "Express Edition" then give Database Mail a chance.
- First enable Database Mail from SQL Server Surface Area Configuration tool
if you have not.
- Configure a mail profile and account in Database Mail,
- Enable your mail profile from SQL Server Agent' s properties\Alert System
- Create an Operator (under SQL Server Agent node)
- Configure the job which is supposed to send an alert (from its
properties\Notifications)
I have a step by step article about this, but it's in Turkish.

Thank you very much. I cannot read it in Turkish. Do you have plan to
translate to English? Thanks.

Nope, sorry. I publish them only in Turkish because there is already enough
material in English.
Google for it. Some links for DB Mail Conf.:
