Hi,

I've just received a new machine to add to my 3-node SQL Cluster on
which 2 instances were installed.
I've only installed one of the two instances on the new server because
the second instance will surely dissappear.

All was going very well until i tried installing SP2 of SQL2005 ( only
the database services part fails ).

The sqlrun_sql.msp will not run correctly, i've tried :
- Local system account as user for sql service
- logging on as cluster service account for doing the install
- deleting the SID's in the setup folder of registry
- killing all msiexec.exe instances & clearing log files

I'm pretty much out of options so I had to put my server online with
SP0 now.
Does anybody have any idea how this could be solved because none of my
maintenance plans work anymore.

I was thinking as very final solution to just copy all SQL Server
files from one of the other 2 servers ( have SP2 installed ) to the
new server, is this a good idea ( I don't think so but no
alternative )?
