Hi,
I have a question concerning SQL Server Licensing that myself and my
system admin can't seem to get to the bottom of.
We're looking at licensing a Standard Edition server, for use with a
web application running on JBoss. This is a hosted ASP site that will
be accessed by multiple clients.
Bascially, the question is, if we go the user CAL route with
licensing, do we need to purchase a license for each user of JBoss, or
just a CAL for each instance of JBoss.
Or would a Processor License cover us?
Thanks,
Mago

Legally only MS can answer this question accurately so take and advice here
with a grain of salt.
You need to license each person who can access the site. If it's publically
available then you can really only go with the per processor license.
If it's used and can only be used by a fixed number of people (say employees
of your company) and this is controlled somehow, in theory you only need
CALs for each user.
That's my understanding. But I don't work for Bill.
