Hi --

I am working on a project on top of SQL Server 2005 and I would like to
store some additional information relating to the tables and fields in my
data base. Is it acceptable to alter the system tables to add my own fields?

Thanks

Rich

Rich,

No it is not.  I don't think it is possible any more and it will certainly
break things if it is possible.  Much, much better to create your own
parallel tables to hold other information, if you need to do that.

But first, look into using Extended Properties.
