Does anyone know if it will be possible to upgrade from SQL Server 2000 to
2008 when it becomes available?

As a follow up, would we be able to detach the 2000 databases and attach
them to the 2008 server?

Is there any official upgrade from 2000 to 2008 available yet?

Any thoughts would be greatly appreciated.  Thank you,

SQL2000 -> SQL2008 is a supported upgrade path.
