Two node cluster (Active/Passive) (SQL2000/WIN2K3).

What should the services (sqlservice and sqlagent) be set to (Automatic or
Manual) on the Active node?

What should the services (sqlservice and sqlagent) be set to (Automatic or
Manual) on the Passive node?

Should these ever need to be changed for maintenance or rebooting a node?

They should all be Manual since they are controlled by the cluster service.
But you should NOT set them as the install will set them properly. You don't
need to change them.

Do you know if this is documented anyplace?

I am getting conflicting information from another SQL MVP and I would like
to verify that this is correct?

This has been resolved......  Linchi you are correct.

The sql server and sql agent services should not be touched/changed.  When
sql server 2000 (and maybe 2005) is installed it will default these services
to start manually and the cluster services will start the necessary services
when the server is rebooted.

Thanks for everyone's help.
