How can I get our dev/business communicty to upgrade from SQL 2000 to SQL
2005. We are years behind. Is there any link to where I can show them that
MS is no longer supporting SQL 2000 or is it ?

Thanks

Hi

http://support.microsoft.com/lifecycle/?p1=2852 shows the support timeline.

If you are planning an upgrade you should be considering SQL Server 2008.

Hold on just a sec.  I think you owe it to yourself and your "dev/business
community" to make sure you NEED to move from 2000 to 2005.  Are there
business requirements that cannot be done in 2000 that can in 2005?  Do you
have the resources to pull off a migration?  As a consultant I have been
called in to rescue companies from themselves when they decided to go to
'latest and greatest' whatever just because it was available and not because
it helped solve a business or development problem.

Also, this late in the game I would do a feature comparison between 2005 and
2008 and see if 2008 might not be the more intelligent move (again if such a
move is required).
