dear all,

we are rolling out a new SQL 2005 server to replace our current 2000 box,

However one application will install SQL express 2005 as its database during
the install process.

Question
Will SQL 2005 and SQL Express 2005 sit side by side on the same server quite
happily..? with no ill effects..

many thanks
Paul

It depends on many factors such as workload/memory/fast disks. Each instance
consumes memory  so make sure that you have enough memory  on the server

Uri,

In this situation if you have to apply SQL updates, the MS08-040 ones, is
there an order this should be done in? SQL2005 first followed by SQL2005
Express.

Thanks

Chris
