Import data issue

Hi all,

Here is my scenario.

I have a source server (SRV1) with the database (BaseLineDB) that has
about 20 tables.  I have to create a package (or a stored procedure)
that can copy data from those 20 tables into a destination server.
A destination server can be any one of other 20 servers.  I do know
the destination database and table structure but I don't know which
server I would need to import the data to at any given time.

Is there a way to create a DTS package or a stored procedure that will
take a destination server name as a parameter and will do the data
import from SRV1.BaseLineDB (all users tables)?   I can only import
into one server at one time and I can not create 20 different
packages.
Table names are the same on the source server and on all destination
servers.  DB names are different and server names are different.

This is on SQL 2000 SP4.

Anybody has any ideas?

T.

I think your best bet would be a 1 way replication.  Especially with
20 target servers.

Hi

You can configure the connection properties to use a global variable which
is then passed as a parameter to the package.
