I am running SQL2000 (SP3 applied) on a cluster running in Windows 2003. I have 2 problems: I am either unable to run a backup from a maintenance plan, or I am unable to failover to the other server.

We currently have two W2K Enterprise servers running MSCS and each of these is running MS SQL2000 enterprise. The Cluster is Active/Active and we have a single instance of SQL running on each server.

I've read and heard some conflicting information about the best method for setting up a MSDTC resource in a cluster. I am running MSSQL 2000 SP3a and Windows 2003. 2 node cluster with currently only once instance of MSSQL with a great chance of growing.
