Applying SP3A to a new node31 May 2005 17:09 GMT6
I need to install sp3a in a recently added node, but I added this second
node after I had installed SP3A in the active node, so, when I installed
SP3a in the first and active node, it was not installed in other servers. I

Can't ping cluster - need help27 May 2005 18:02 GMT1
Recently set up a cluster and it seems to be working up to a point.
Have run into a problem trying to ping the cluster IP address from a
node not owning any resources, or from outside the cluster. Pinging
from the node that owns everything works, and if I move over the MSDTC
Accessing named instances27 May 2005 18:00 GMT1
I am looking to see if anyone has had this problem or ideas of what I might
try.  We have been running a Windows 2000 cluster connected to a powervault
for two years as a single instance with no problems.

deleting records takes forever26 May 2005 21:07 GMT2
I've got a bit of a problem on a clustered sql server.  I don't know
if the cluster has anything to do with it, this is an entirely new
configuration for our company.  We've moved out of the days of using
"white-box" pcs for servers to two dl380s clustered with an msa 1000
Service Acct not Storing Pwd After Reboot26 May 2005 17:00 GMT1
The sql server service doesn't start b/c it appears the password isn't

retype the domain acct and pwd and save... I've also retyped the pwd

Majority Node Set ?26 May 2005 08:01 GMT2
Has anyone created a clustered sql2000 instance on windows 2003 in different
geographical areas? I gather this can be done, but there is no shared
storage as such. I believe one has to replicate data another way.
I am looking for some docs on this before I dive in!

Clustering with NAS24 May 2005 10:29 GMT10
Has anyone clustered SQL server 2000 using a NAS server (eg. Dell PowerVault
745N) as the shared storage? I know that SAN is recommended but costs are
vastly higher. Any reasons as to why it shouldn't be done would be helpful.
thanks - pete.

MSCS SQL2000 Cluster 64 and 32 bit servers?20 May 2005 16:03 GMT4
Is it possible to create Fail-over Cluster with 64-bit (Itanium2) and 32-bit (Intel Xeon) nodes?
How would you answer?20 May 2005 14:26 GMT4
My boss issued a challenge at lunch today:  Find out if SQL can cluster to
support thousands of end-users with hundreds of thousands of trans per
minute, or we start looking at Oracle.
What do I say to him?
