is it possible to assign for each CPU a different process within one SQL Server 2005? I got 2 servers (each 4 CPUs; 64 bit system) which should be able to failover, but on the other hand there are reporting/analysing applications

I just installed SQL Server 2005 (with SP1) to cluster server. Because I only installed SQL Server Engine, after install the Maintenance Plans Wizard is not working. The error said SQL Server 2005 Management Tools must be installing.

My understanding of sql2k is as such: You can install only 1 sql server instance per virtual server. If that is the case then when connecting to the instance on the virtual server why do you need to connect using a sql client alias use the notation

Does anyone know if you can set up a failover cluster to failover (1 way only) from a 2005 Standard edition to a 2005 Enterprise edition server? I know you could not go the other way, but we are looking to be able to failover the DBs on our Standard box to the Enterprise box.

I found that my contractor really fowled things up on a test server. He started the cluster service on his login. He is no longer an issue. So how do I drop all references to clustering on this server? The cluster service will not start currently.
