Is setting a static port for SQL server possible on a cluster? I tried this
and the service would not start, so I had to run the cluster recovery
utility to get the service to start again.

i have a 2-node cluster  with SQL 2000. I've received many complaints
about the performance. My users tell me that the server is very slow.

I've a challenge of upgrading the curent cluster hardware.
