i had to put in a long cross over cable for the private connection when i created the cluster and now that i have a new shorter cable i was wondering what would happen if i just replaced the cable while the system was live. will this break things or is it safe?

I have a clustered environment which includes 2 nodes. The cluster fails across fine but the only issue is the disks do not appear in My Computer. When I connect to the disks through Windows disk management all the disks are there.

Assuming we have 2 NIC Cards and one port on each of the NIC is NIC teamed for redundancy, do we use the other port on the NIC for the private network ? Or do we have to bring in a 3rd NIC to set it up ? What would be recommended ?
