What triggers the cluster failover ?30 Sep 2007 22:22 GMT2
I know there is the heartbeat that checks for ping... But i also believe
there is  a sql related check too ..right ?
I guess what im getting at is ..if the server is super busy that this sql
related check cannot even get a thread to connect, will the cluster fail ?

Our organization has a medical application that is dependent on 6
independent SQL databases that are loaded on 1 SQL 2005 server/instance.
Can  a "SQL 2005 High Availability Database Mirror" be used to mirror all
six databases and automatically failover.

We are having difficulty uninstalling a named instance from our 2-node,
active-active cluster.
When we try using the CD setup program, none of the instances appear in the
drop down to select which instance to remove.  I have heard that there is a

We moved from a single-server instance to Active/Passive cluster and
we are experiencing a higher CPU utilization than we saw on the single

Have any of you ever run across a problem in SQL Server 2005 running an
