One node of a two node cluster failed yesterday. The second node came active but when it tried to create the shares it failed with event ID 1068 "failed to start with error 2116" and "failed to start with error 87" I cannot find these error codes. Any help will be appreciated

For testing purposes is it possible to mirror databases on different OS? The version of SQL is the same. I thought I remembered reading something about the differences in encrption technology???

Simple sql cluster - 2 machines active\passive I see that any sql activity is written to both logs (logins, backups, etc) to both servers. They have the same time stamps. I would of thought that it only writes to only the event logs for the active

As the subject indicates, I am very new to Failover Clustering. Nevertheless, I need to get this up and running for the organization. I suppose it's a 2-node cluster that I will be configuring. The first being the principal server and the second being the failover cluster.
