We are looking to create an Active/Passive cluster with two named instances. In this scenario, would the data files associated with the different instances need to be placed on different LUNS are could all of the data files be placed in the same LUN?

Has anyone seen a sql 2005 cluster with very high wnilogon.exe processes? The passive node has a winlogon.exe using 2gb of ram, and the active node has 1.7gb in winlogon (and 1.6gb in sqlserver.exe)... Haven't bene able to locate the issue (if there is one) after restarting

Are there any reasons why the SQL Server Service of an SQL Server 2005 Cluster (active/passive), should not be restarted using Management Studio? Is there any reason why the SQL Server Cluster should be taken offline before restarting the service?
