I installed SQL Server Express 2008 and VB.Net Express 2008.
I added a database and a table in SQL Server Express (using run as admin
user), and set my regular user account as the owner.
I tried to add that database as a resource in my VB.Net app and it keeps

I have a user & role in sql server, role is assigned to user and I did a
backup of database. [e.g. myuser & myrole]

I have published the SQL server IP address through ISA2004 but cannot

I have been manually setting a linked server query timeout options to a value
other than 0.
Whenever the server is rebooted, however, the value reverts to 0.

I'm trying to connect to a desktop running sql server express from sql
server management studio on my laptop.  It times out the first time but when
I retry, it connects immediately.  I tried bumping up the timeout value but
that didn't make any difference.  Any ideas.

My problem is a strange and radiacal performance speed reduction of remote
SQL 2005 server when connected from desktop (Vista OS). So, my desktop
application is remotely connecting to SQL 2005 server .

around with it trying different things.
I had the server set up in mixed mode..
