I'm completely new to databases. What is the best practice for organizing statistical data in a database? I have 400+ parameters for 185 countries for 20+ years each. How many tables should I use and how should they be structured (e.g. countries in rows, years in columns, etc).

Hi NG Everyone talks about UDM and consolidating heterogenous datasources (OLTP, OLAP, flatfiles) into one cube and one dimensional model. However, I didn't find any example of such an implementation. Could someone provide us with something like that?

Is it possible to create a cube in analysis services that has columns from more than one fact table as long as the fact tables share the same data grain and dimensions? Thanks for any advice.
