I have a vb.net desktop application that uses msde 2000 for its databasing.  
I am trying to create a setup file using the output of my desktop application
and the msde 2000 merge modules in order to install my own build plus an
instance of msde 2000.

I have an application that uses MSDE 2000. Upon the install of application
creates an instance of SQL called "Emmsde". This company does not provide any
backup methods to backup and restore to another computer in case of an
emergency unless you pay big bucks to them. I have tried ...

I have some sql scripts "file.sql" and would like to know how to run them
using MSDE (osql -E sa).

I have successfully installed MSDE 2000 on a Windows 2003 Server Service Pack
1 server.  When I try to install MSDE 2000 Service Pack 3, I get the
following error message:  Please go to the control panel to install and
configure system components.  

I have seen in some Microsoft Setups that SQL 2005 Express as what looks
like a feature of a MSI.  I was wondering how this was done, as I would
really like to install it this way instead of as a prerequsite or custom
action.

What's the easiest way to do a restore on a .bak that would be included with
the files on install of a custom application?  I have the code to do the
silent install of SQL Server Express 2005 already.  Now I just need to know
if there's any command line...commands...to do the ...

I'm trying to install SQL server express edition on a different drive from C
(operating system drive) as I do not have enough space on this drive.
Is it possible to install on a seperate drive? If so, how?

I have a sql script which runs fine on MSDE 2000 and SQL Server 2000.
But when run on SQL Server 2005 Express I get all sorts of errors. Here

Here is my situation - curious if anyone has any other things to try.
I have a SBS 2003 Standard box with MSDE, and a named instance I created
myself, as well as the default instances (for sharepoint and whatnot).  There
is no default instance.

I would like to install SQL Server Express on a local networked PC on a
network that already has a production SQL database running. I don't want my
installation to touch anything else on the network and use it only for local
testing and report writing.
