We are experiencing a transient problem wherein duplication notifications
are occaisionally generated for no dicernible reason.  It happened twice in

I am using Outlook 2003 and sql 2000 and POP email service.
When completing backup jobs, I want an email notification to be sent out.
The email is not being received. Only when I stop sql server and open outlook
on the server do all the emails get sent out.

I googled this and MSDN is stating that is is discontinued.  I searched for
SQL-SN in SQL Server 2008 and I cannot find anything.  What gives?  This
almost seems like a hoax.
