We have multiple instances of SQL Server to support development and
testing of our applications.  But when I run the application from our
testing server, the wrong instance of SQL Server is responding to
queries.  I have set up remote debugging to find that the application on

   I am evaluating upgrading to SP4 on one of our main SQL2K SP3 servers.
The SP4 upgrade will only be to this single SQL2K SP3 server, but we have 2

I'm trying to setup SQL Server SP4 on a windows 2003 cluster, but the
setup hangs on the Validating User dialog box,  I've seen the sqlsp.log
file and it seems the program hangs when it stops and starts the SQL

Very strange problem here! Installed SQL 2000 on my Windows Server 2003 with
SP1. All went well. Got my DB working and clients connecting fine.
Went to connect a box in the DMZ via ODBC using TCP/IP on 1433 and it failed
to connect. Tried another box on the LAN and that wouldn't ...

I need to understand transaction logs. I have an SQL server/application.
Every once in a while the application will tell the user there is an error
and that the transaction log is full. It then recommends backing up   the
transaction log.
