I've been trying to nail down a simple backup strategy for small
businesses, and having quite a tough time of it.  Nowhere do I seem to be
able to find a concise description of simple, complete automatic daily SQL
Server 2000 backups.

The company bought 10 client RTM license in 2000 and recently I've upgraded
installation to SP3a (I'm new here). There are several databases in that

I've not been able to get the DVD image to install correctly.  It goes
through the first few steps and then fails on installation of the Native

I have a SQL Server 2k running SP4 installed on a Windows 2k3 server. It has
two named instances, because the server also runs Veritas Backup Exec, which
itself, installs an instance of SQL Server to log it's actions. This server
is remotely managed by myself.
