i have installed windows server 2003, its windows installer version is
2.0.3790.0. although the microsoft site claims that windows server 2003
has built in windows installer 3.1. i ran the update for windows

KB article 304261 says you can use a non-local (network) drive (NAS, SAN)
with SQL server 2000.  I've got Trace flag 1807 set on (as per article) but
it fails with error 5105 (not 5110 as per article).  Has anyone done this

I currently have a 64bit hardware server running a 32 bit version of W2K and
a 32 bit version of SQL Server 2000 Developers Edition.  I want to upgare
this box to W2K3 64 bit and SQL to 2005 enterprise edition 64 bit.  Is this
an upgradable path?

database files to during setup, is there any way to specify specifically
where to store your .mdf and .ldf files during setup(i.e., all .ldf files go

I am working on an installation that we would like to make SMS compatible and

I uninstalled all the modules of ss2k5 via the Control Panel 'Add Remove
Programs' .
The modules are no longer listed in the AddRemove Programs list ... however
they are still listed in the 'All Programs' window .... and I can open

I used SQL Server Express 2005 on my pc for a few months over a year
ago.  That project was dropped and I moved on to non-database projects
for awhile.  Then I had to connect to the company's SQL Server 2000
server and they installed Enterprise Manager for it on my pc.  Now
