We are upgrading our 2000 SQL server running Server 2003 Enterprise (x86)
from 4 procs to 8.  The server is currently configured with 8Gigs of RAM.  Is
this enough?  What is the recommended amount?  I am concerned that too little
memory will starve the CPU's.
After I update the existed sql 2000 to sql 2005. But I saw the  sql is still running v8.0 (it means still running sql2000)20 Nov 2006 09:38 GMT4

I have an existing SQL 2000 database that I would like to split into
multiple file groups.  I know how to add a file group but how would I move a
table to a secondary and third file group and also how would I move indexes
to a different file group?

We have SQL server 2000 Enterprise on Windows 2003 Enterprise.
We've upgraded RAM from 2GB to 4GB and we set SQL server to dynamically
allocate all available memory. Do we still need to change anything else, do
we need to add /3GB swith to boot.ini file?
Installed SQL2000 SP4 successfully but still shows RTM as installe16 Nov 2006 20:58 GMT1
After installing SP4 on server, I checked ProductLevel and Productversion and
they still showed RTM and 8.00.194.
I did see a whitepaper about this regarding SP1 and the fix was to apply the
latest SP which is SP4, so this does not apply to me.

My SQL Server 2005 is called PC\SQLEXPRESS. I use PC\Robert (administrator)
account on Windows XP Professional. I use Windows Authentication. Remote

enterprise or standard edition and whether it is for 32 bit or 64 bit?
