I'm running SQL Server 2005 Standard x64. All datetime columns show up in Management Studio with precision only to the second. The thousandth portion is suppressed. I can enter a value such as 2007-08-30 12:34:56.789, but as soon as I leave the row, it reverts to 2007-08-30 12:34 ...

I've a folder called C:\a121651d93e50df9b4b1 and under this looks to be 26MB of SQL hotfix data. Normally, I find SQL patch data under the %SystemRoot%, but whatever. Anyway I like to delete these after a while, but this time I can not.

I have a development environment where I have SQL Server 2000 installed. It was installed with the wrong collation order and it appears the best way to correct this is to re-install it on the server. When I try to uninstall it, however, I am getting this message:

Hi all... I have read that SQL Server 2005 Standard can use up to 4 CPUs. The server in question has 4 Xeon dual core processors (or at least they show up as 8 in Task Manager).

We just migrated a large database from SQL 2000 ent ed. to SQL 2005 ent. ed. This migration included moving to larger, faster hardware on an active-passive clustered pair of Win 2003 servers (32 GB RAM, quad processors, etc). Setup went fine.
