How can I make all services and jobs and etc verbosely log to the Application Log on the server? Replication stuff goes to a table, jobs go to tables, etc. I would like to centrally capture them all so my monitoring tool can just go to a single place.

Till now I've worked with SQL Server 2005 and VS 2005. With the SQL Server installation comes a VS 2005 Shell, which offers Business Intelligence projects. After installation of VS 2008, I recognized, that there are no such projects in VS 2008.
