I have mirroring set up with Witness and running fine but I cannot find a monitoring WMI event that fires if I just unplug the ethernet from the Primary. In that case it becomes Primary, Disconnected / In recovery.

When I try to do anything with the HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\Perflib\009 registry key Vista generates an pop-up saying the was an error writing to the registry.

I have a server running Windows Server 2003 R2 Enterprise SP2, and SQL Standard 2005 SP2. The server has 8GB RAM. Should I need to tune the memory (in boot.ini or elsewhere), or will the default settings be OK.

Hi everyone. I have installed a SQL Server 2005 and found a Visual Studio folder in Program Files afterwards. Is it something SQL Server 2005 installs? Does it need a separate license or a valid SQL Server 2005 license is enough?

I am running MS SQL Server 2005 on a virtualized instance of Windows Server 2008. The Windows Update says that SQL 2005 requires SP2. So I allowed it to download and install. It said it installed successfully.
