I note that the minimum OS for SQL Server 2008 is Windows Server 2003 SP2, I am currently running Windows Server 2003 R2 SP1 and need to know if this version of OS is supported

Getting the following error when attempting to use SSMS 2008 for anything beyond writing basic queries. I really don't want to have to start by formatting my machine and can't find a whole lot of help out there about this error.

After installing a 32 bit version of SQL 2000 on a 64 bit Windows 2003 Server, we realize that it gets installed within C:\Program Files (x86). Can it be installed within the 64 bit directory C:\Program Files? Would this work, or would there be issues?
