SQL 2000 Standard SP4 version 8.0.0.2055 I am trying to apply hotfix KB948111 to bring it to version 8.0.0.2273 When I run the hotfix it will not let me select the instance I have running. I can not check the boxes.

We are using Microsoft SQL Server 2005 SP2 on a dual quad core machine with 4GB ram. This machine was running fine until suddenly the management studio (either from a local or remote connection) would take over 2 minutes to display any properties page of the databases.

We know about the fix/workaround, which is to uninstall XML via the Windows installer cleanup utility. Question: When is MS going to give us a better solution? Something more graceful and easier for the end user?

I am attempting to install SQL Server 2008 on a Hyper-V vm running Windows Server 2008. I also have a different Windows Server 2008 VM running AD. When I attempt to use a domain account as a service account in SQL Server I get the error message in the title.

Is there a way to restore a database into SQL2000 that was backed up in SQL2005? I've heard that using sp_dbcmptlevel to change the compatibility level may work. If possible, please outline the steps necessary.
